Thanks for visiting my page. I'd like to tell you a little about myself. I live in Chesapeake, Virginia with my husband Jeff and our very energetic son, Nikolas. As a freelance writer, I have a deep passion to share the hope and healing I’ve found in Jesus Christ through short stories, dramatic skits, and the devotions I write.
The name for my blog, At the Hem, comes from one of my favorite Bible stories of all time, the woman with the issue of blood. Her story is found in 3 of the 4 gospels (Matthew 9:20 – 22, Mark 5:25 – 24, and Luke 8:43 – 48). This amazing woman suffered for 12 years with her issue. Labeled unclean because of her condition, she more than likely lived a lonely life because anyone she came in contact with would have been considered unclean too (Lev. 15:25 – 27). Using every resource possible, she visited doctor after doctor in hopes of stopping the bleeding…but nothing worked.
Determined to be well, there was one thing she knew she had to do. She had obviously heard about Jesus and the way he miraculous healed the blind and lame. He was the answer to her problem and he just happened to be making His way through town. Unwavering, she pushed through the crowd that day and reached out to touch the hem of his garment. In an instant she was clean…whole…new...productive. Her faith catapulted her to experience first hand the power of Jesus Christ.
Jesus still heals in miraculous ways today. Won’t you join me as I “sit at the hem” of Christ’s garment? I promise you will find hope and healing there.
