Where do you go for answers to life's toughest questions?

When you need to know the answers to life's really tough questions...where do you turn for advice? Proverbs 17:24 says “Sensible people keep their eyes glued on wisdom, but a fool’s eyes wander to the ends of the earth.” (NLT) This verse tells me to look for wisdom when I have hard questions.  So where does one find wisdom? Wisdom can be found by reading God’s word and by seeking the advice of a trusted advisor (a more mature Christian) or a trusted friend.
There were times in my life when I went looking for answers but instead of praying first and asking God to place someone in my life, I sought advice from various friends (Christians and non-Christians). Depending on the subject matter, I received varying answers from varying world-views.

As a Christ-follower, I’ve learned over time to seek wisdom's voice through the lens of the Bible. How does God answer difficult questions? Sometimes, after I have sought God, I will look to a trusted friend for confirmation or advice. Trusted friends are the people in your life who have perhaps been where you are and can help you better than anyone else.
I think God uses our experiences for two reasons. First, He desires to draw us into a deeper more intimate relationship with Him by relying on Him when life gets tough. Secondly, He uses our experiences to help others who may be going through similar circumstances.
Want to grow in your faith? Establish a daily quiet time with prayer and Bible reading. See what God's word has to say about the issues you're dealing with in life. The more we pray, and the closer we get to Christ, and the more our faith will grow. Also, find a few people who are following Christ and "do life" with them. Establish and build relationships with other Christ-followers.

Want to overcome an addiction? Pray and ask God to surround you with Godly people who have been where you are and can hold you accountable.
God places people in our life for a reason. Allow those people to help you gain wisdom and understanding.
